Let's play catch up again

I had to go to the hospital because of pain in my legs.  It was excruciating.  Morphine didn't touch the pain so they gave me delaudid.  I don't know how to spell it but it worked.  It seems that my body is attacking itself.  I have vasculitis.  Now I need to find out why.  I will need to see a rheumatologist.  Hopefully they can figure this out.
I started to post a picture of my legs but thought that might be a bit much for some to handle.  Just think large blood blisters that are now turning black.  Doesn't sound fun does it.  It's not.
Mike had a meeting in Tampa, Fl. so he, Kaitlyn and Lucas have gone on a trip for a week.

Lucas is a month old now and according to his dad, he is a great little traveler.
They left the day I got out of the hospital.  We have been just laying around doing nothing.  And we are really enjoying the laying around doing nothing stuff.
Like a lot of the country, we have gotten our share of the rain and thunderstorms.  That too has kept us indoors.  When I get to the part where I am talking about the weather, it's time to shut up and close the book.  So.... Later

What Now???

Did I tell you about my perfectly executed "tuck and roll"?  Yes, I took a fall a couple of weeks ago while walking with Kaitlyn.  I had their dog Buster on a leash.  He stopped, I didn't.  As Kaitlyn stood there with the baby , I did a nice tuck and roll.  It was a solid 10 she said.  I laid there for minute to make sure everything was ok.  I had a skinned knee, bruised hip, and I do believe a cracked rib.  It's the rib that is still giving me fits.  On top of this my ankles have broken out in blood blisters.   They started out as tiny red dots. The dots grew and darkened to blisters filled with blood.  I broke down and went to the doctor.

It seems that since I failed some blood tests but passed  others, I need a biopsy to confirm that I have Rheumatoid Arthritis with skin complications.  Oh the joys of growing old.  It seems that right now all I have time for is doctor appointments.  I must see a dermatologist to preform the biopsy.  Then, if confirmed, I will need to see the RA doctor.  None of this is in my plans!  My itinerary is already planned and doctors are nowhere on it!

Life goes on... but

We had been enjoying that new grand baby, when the phone rang at 1:30a.m.  It's never a good thing when the phone rings in the middle of the night.  You want to just not answer it and whatever has happened, just won't happen.  Unfortunately, that is never the case, you have to answer, you have to find out.  This time it was a death in the family.  My brother-in-law, Jim.  He hadn't been sick.  In fact, my sister had and has been having some heart tests done.  He was worried about her.  He was just here one minute and gone the next.  When my time comes, I hope that is the way I leave this world.  Easy on me.  But it sure is hard on those left behind.  First there is the shock and disbelief.  I still can't believe that he is gone.  Jim was a larger than life kind of fellow.  He knew everyone and if he didn't, just give him 5 minutes and he would.  We made a flying trip home to see my sister and attend the funeral.  This will be a difficult change for her.  She and Jim have been married 51 years.  We are back in Houston now.  Back helping with the new baby.  Life goes on... but is never the same.

Just enjoying the beautiful weather here

Yesterday there wasn't a cloud in the sky.  The temperature was 79 but there was a cool breeze and it sure didn't feel that warm at all.  We took Buddy to a dog park so that he could run free and enjoy this  weather.
Buddy met lots of new friends.  This one look looked like a mini-me of Buddy.  Buddy's tongue is hanging out because they had just enjoyed a game of tag.
Of course Buddy had to walk the entire fence line to make sure there wasn't a place to escape.

There was a nice walkway all around the park.  They even had restrooms for the dog owners.  There was also a place to bathe your dogs, or just wash them off.  I didn't get a good picture but there is a large pond for them to play in.  Play they did!

Buddy had to have a bath when we got back to the motorhome.  Luckily they have a nice dog wash here.
Speaking of washing.... Betsy (aka the motorhome) got a good bath too!

Then Doug went fishing in the pond in front of us.

Unfortunately, this pond is catch and release, so no fish for us.  He caught another one right after releasing this one.  It was a big one.  It broke his line.
Here is a update photo of the new family.

                                                                       Later, ya'll!!!

May I introduce Lucas Douglas

The day finally came and we went to the hospital to meet our newest grandson.  The wait seemed to be forever.
Mike sent me a message that the assisants name was Audrey (my moms name).  I cried when he sent the next one.  He felt that his grandmother was there with them.
This was our first glimpse of Mike and the baby.  Through glass.  Since Kaitlyn had a c section, they sent Mike to the nursery with the baby while they finished up with Kaitlyn.

This was all we got to see of Lucas on his birthday.  Since he was a C-section baby, he had a little trouble with high heart rate because of fluid in his lungs.  They kept him in the nursery for 6 hours and when he was still having problems moved him to Nic-U and put him on a Cpap to open his lungs up.  Dry him out.  LOL

By the next day he was doing great.  They let him come to his room.  The red marks on his cheeks are from the tape they used to hold cpap in place.

He probably thought he was a movie star with all the flashes going off.

Yesterday we finally got a chance to put his St. Patricks Day outfit on him.  It was suppose to be worn on his birthday, which was St. Paddy's Day!

Today, Friday, they are letting them go home.    It's a good day.

Just checking in

Not a lot going on around here.  We have had a lot of rain and cool weather.  In fact today was the first day of sunshine and warmth since we have been here.
It was raining when I took this, but this is the view out our windshield since we moved to WestLake RV Resort.
This is a picture to prove that I have cooked since we have been here.  Not much, but I have.  This is pork loin in BBQ sauce cooking in the slow cooker.
Since it was so nice outside today, Doug and I went to the flea market.  This place is huge.  We walked around for almost 3 hours and didn't cover it all.

This was a grill we saw.  They had all different shapes.  This steer was nice and shiny.  It also was $650.
It didn't have a very large cooking surface to be as large as it was.
                                                       Here is an alligator grill.
When I said they had everything at this flea market, I meant everything!  That pink thing is a mock casket.  You can even plan your funeral here.  LOL
How do you like this corvette?  This man was zipping all over the place in his "vette".
A couple were shopping for fruit for their chameleon.  It really was pretty.
There was all kinds of fruits and vegetables.

Even Nascar was represented here.  This is one of the cars Kasey Kahne drove.
This really is a "monster truck".
There were several old cars and trucks on display.  I liked these two red ones.

I don't know who this is. He and his wife were the representatives there with the Great Clips car.  Doug talked with him for a long while about Nascar.
It was a beautiful day.  It sure was nice to be outside for a change.  Hopefully tomorrow will be even better.

Back in Houston, waiting for a baby to get here.

We are here waiting on grand baby #3.  We left Arkansas just in time it seems.  Most of the state is under a winter storm warning or watch.  We had 8 inches of snow a couple of days before we left and I think it has stayed around freezing.

Here in Katy, Texas it has been cool but not too cold.  40's and 50's have felt pretty good.  It is slowly warming up and is 79 right now.  Right now I have the windows open in the motor home and am enjoying a nice breeze coming in.  So glad to be somewhere warm.  LOL

While on our way here, I called to just make sure we could get a spot to stay.  I never dreamed I would have a problem and started not to call.  Well, I am glad I did.  I first called Traders Village.  This is a fairly large campground.  I was shocked when they told me they were booked up until March 25.  Really!  I then called West Lake Resort.  They were booked until the first of the week.  They suggested we call Katy lake RV Park.    All I could get was an answering machine.  No one returned my calls.  I got on the internet and started looking.  I found Houston West RV Park.  They had an opening. YEA!  I then found out that the Houston Rodeo was in progress.  This is one of the largest rodeos in the country.  It lasts all month!  Gee I wish I had known this.

We are set up at Houston West and will stay at least a week here.  Then we will probably move to West Lake RV park because it is so close to Mike's house.

As soon as we got set up, water started leaking around the fridge on the outside.  This part had broken.  Doug did a quick fix on it and we went into town to buy a new one.  We got back and found this note on the door.  It had broken again and was pouring water out.  Our neighbor was afraid it was leaking on the inside too and shut our water off.  Thanks neighbors.  Doug replaced the part and all is well.

This is what I have been up to while at home snowed in.

I love to crochet.  It keeps me busy

These are neck collars.  I have to buy buttons to put on them.

Yep I have been busy.  'Later!

8 In of snow for us today!

That isn't a lot of snow to the people up north, but down here, it's huge!

These pictures were taken in the afternoon.  We had around 4 inches when these were taken.
I have an appointment to see the doctor tomorrow.   I doubt they will be open.  We will see.  This much snow around here and the world comes to a complete stop.  LOL
We hope to head for Houston this weekend.  The weather needs to cooperate.  My sinus infection needs to get better also.  I have been running a low grade fever for a while now and hopefully this new medication will clear everything up.  We need to get down to Houston to meet that new grand baby.  He will be here before we know it!  I enjoyed looking at the snow today but it needs to be gone tomorrow morning.  I have other fish to fry!  LOL
