If you have never been to a Buc-ee's you are missing a treat. Yes it is a "service station", but what a station it is! Big rigs easily get their fuel but that isn't what makes your jaw drop. It's the store attached to it.
It's a grocery store, auto parts store, deli and gift shop and more all in one place.
The store goes on forever.
Nice gifts too!
And goofy ones... LOL
To order from the deli, you go to a computer and pick what you want.
The printer prints you a receipt with a order # and the amount due. When it's ready they will call out your number and you pick it up and take it to a check out along with any other purchases you have.
If you come to Texas and see a Buc-ee's you must stop. I know sounds weird, just do it.
We have stopped for the night at Jellystone Park. It is about 20 miles south of Ft. Worth in the town of Burleson, TX. This is a great place to bring the kids. It's a camping trip on steroids. They have activities for the kids, swimming pool, water park, rides, fishing, arts and crafts and much more. There was 3 pages of activities that they gave us when we checked in.
The next few pictures are of the grounds and inside the store and cafe.
These iron sculptures were scattered around the park. They really are pretty.
I love this horse. It is very large, almost life size.
To help you keep up with what's going on for the kids.
The only complaint I have about the park is the birds. Those grackle (I think that is what they are called. They are large black birds with a fan shaped tail) It is dusk now and they are in every tree. They make more noise than the kids do!
Ban the birds! LOL It's not my kind of resort but it is great for kids and grandkids!
Later
P.S. I took another walk in a different direction this a.m. and the birds seem to only be bad in the area we are in. There are more trees in this area. So it was just a lucky us situation. I forgot to mention that if you don't have an RV, they have lots of cabins to stay in. The cabins are very nice log home looking places with screened in porches on some.
