Plans change again...
Yesterday Doug's eye started bothering him. This is the eye that he had the cornea transplant on a few years back. Lately he has been battling a virus that keeps coming back in it, causing scar tissue to form. It was the scar tissue that we could see as a white spot that cause our concern. When we got to the doctor this morning he told us that he wasn't concerned about the scar tissue but that there were capillaries growing into his cornea. This is of concern because the more blood vessels in the eye the more chance for a rejection of the cornea. He put him back on medication and wants to see him on thursday. IF he hasn't had any further growth, the doctor will take a picture of his eye for Doug to take with us. Doug will need to see an ophthalmologist in two weeks. At that time the doctor will look at his eye and compare it to the picture to make sure there is no more growth, thus rejection. Right now the plan is to leave on Friday. Let's hope that nothing goes wrong again and the weather cooperates.
