That's my big question for today. Why? Why has this week gone by so slow? Why am I never caught up with my chores in the house? Why is it so interesting to follow bloggers?
Why?
Each day has gone by so slow! The days have been dragging. But when Friday finally gets here, I realize this week has flown by and another weekend is really here. How can the days be so long, yet the week fly by? My mother always told me that the days and weeks would pass faster and faster the older I got. It seems that she was right. Now that I have reached 60, (oh my gosh did I really type that!) I seem to have changed my outlook on age. Now I seem to be rushing towards retirement age. I stayed 29 for so long that I literally forgot what my real age was. When I turned 60, suddenly I found myself wanting to hurry up and reach 65. I have plans when we retire and I am ready to start them. I enjoy our short weekend trips but, I want MORE!
Why?
I always thought my house was a mess because I had two wild boys that were always dragging in something, changing clothes 3 times a day or eating me out of house and home. Both boys are now young men and have homes of their own and my house is still a mess. Hmmmmm How can two people make such a mess? How can we have so much dirty laundry? Do beds really need to be made up every day? I think I kept a cleaner house when they were home than I do now. That doesn't sound good for me does it???
Why?
I have been following blogs for several years now. I have some, that though I have never met them and don't even exchange emails with them, I feel that I know them and they are friends. I enjoy reading about what's going on in their lives, where they are going and what they are doing. Most of the blogs I follow are RV'ers. I love seeing their adventures. I learn alot from these bloggers. I see what it's like to live in Mexico. I marvel that a single woman could set out by herself in a monster RV and travel Canada and the US. I enjoy seeing how people can supplement their income with creations of their own. Even more amazing is that they do it because they love what they are making and would do it if they never sold a thing. It's that love of the craft that makes their creations so beautiful.
I see what it's like to full-time in a RV. I see how others prepare for retirement, what their plans are and if my plans and ideas are indeed feasible.
I look forward to the day that I don't care what day of the week it is, I can easily keep an RV clean but won't worry if it's not, and can enjoy my hobbies and share them with others. Until that day comes, I will just keep on going to work, trying to keep my house half way decent and reading blogs that inspire me and give me great ideas!

Beautiful Day spent with family
It was a beautiful day today. A bit windy but with the sun shining it was real nice outside. We spent the afternoon over at brother in law's house with almost all of the McDaniel's. Ricky cooked hamburgers, sausages, hot dogs and boudain. Can't say I tried the boudain but I have had it before. The food was all good and everyone had a good time. By late afternoon the temps had dropped to the 60' with still a strong wind. Too cold for for all of us so everyone went home. Sorry I didnt take pics.
One of these days I'll get better at this.(I hope)

Nothing going on right now
Haven't posted in a while because we haven't been anywhere since the Houston trip. We have a couple coming up in May but until then it's just the same ole boring stuff going on.
We will take the motorhome to the shop and get the oil changed and the slide adjusted next week getting it ready for the trip to Amarillo. The slide has something orange (some kind of plastic glider maybe) breaking off when we open and close it. Can't see under it since it it enclosed but whatever it is it has been cracking off in small pieces each time we move the slide. Hopefully it just needs an adjustment and that's all.
Happy RVing

Home Again
Before we came home we stopped at the apple store. I wanted to talk to them about my next laptop. I can't make up my mind whether I want a Mac Air or MacBook Pro. Decisions, decisions. After a lengthy discussion, I still dont know which one I am going to get. I have til June to decide.
Any suggestions?????

Houston Day 4
Sunday we went over to Katie and Davids house for the afternoon. Yes we ate again. This time it was BBQ. David had grilled/smoked a brisket, chicken, ribs and sausage. It was all great.
We watched the masters ( I have never watched golf, but hey, it was interesting)
I really like the end when they had to have a playoff. I might watch again some time, well maybe not.
Sunday evening we watched a movie and just played with Buster. The big news is we didn't eat supper!
He had the zoomies and I missed him that time
He ran too fast, my camera was too slow.
Then he crashed.
But he had fun he said.

Houston day 3
Saturday we slept late and then Kaitlyn and I went and got a manicure while the guys worked on the sprinkler system. We grabbed a burger at Sam's Deli
That evening we went to Easter services at their church. It seems that they were expecting so many people that they asked the members to come Saturday night so that they would have room for the visitors on Sunday.
After services we went to eat again. Seems like that is all we did, but hey, you have to eat every day and we just happened to have some really good meals. By now we had had Italian, Korean, Cajun and now we were heading for our favorite place to eat in Houston.... Lupes! They have the thinnest, bestest tortillas I have ever eaten.
I had beef/chicken fajitas.
Doug had a burrito
Mike had a stuffed pablano pepper
Kaitlyn had beef carbon (I think) It was beef fajita already rolled up.
Again too much food, but the leftovers were breakfast, yes I said breakfast for Mike and Kaitlyn.
It does seem like all we did was eat, but really that's just all I took pics of LOL

Houston day 2
Yesterday we went yo lunch at Kim chi's. It was a Korean restaurant.
Mike gotus several dishes to try. My favorite was the Bo go gi at least I think that is what it was. I didn't care to much for the rest. It came with Kim chi, I knew about this from food network and wasn't too keen on eating it bit I did. Yuk! I should have stayed with my first choice.
After eating we headed for the grocery store. Mike is cooking crawfish shrimp, potatoes, artichokes and hot dogs tonight. Some of their friends are coming over to help us eat all this. By the time we got back home it was time to start preparing the shrimp and crawfish. We deveined the shrimp and cleaned the live crawfish.
Mike checking to make sure they are good!
When its ready you just pour it all on the table and have a feast!
Friends Katie and David joined in!
Mike and Katie peeling the leftovers.
We had a great day, lots of food, fun and fellowship.

Houston
At the airport.
As you can see they are remodeling.
I didnt bring my computer with me to Houston, I just brought the IPad and that was a mistake. I cant seem to do anything that I want to do with it. I have borrowed my sons Mac and I am thinking that maybe it is time to go Mac.
He had reservations for us at Bucca Di Deppo. A great Italian family style resturant. We had a great meal but unfortunately we were so hungry that I forgot to take pics.
Here is a shot of the Houston skyline.

Southwest was ready for Easter! We had a full flight and that made it uncomfortable. I was sandwiched between to large men. It was alittle bumpy at first but when we settled in at 34,000 ft it was smooth sailing. It only took one hour and we were there. Unfortunately son went to wrong airport to pick us up and we waited one hour for him to arrive

Getting ready for Houston trip
Getting all packed and ready to fly out to Houston tomorrow. We will spend Easter with Michael and Kaitlyn. We have a direct flight into Houston arriving at 4:20. The neighbor came over this evening to send a Easter present to Buster, yummy dog biscuits! I have to work til noon but Doug will be off all day. He gets to mow the lawn before we go. I hope the weather is good for our trip, especially the flight.
In reading one of the blogs I follow, I came across this interesting tidbit:
Did you know tranny filters have dates on them??
That is important because of the next part I am going to write about.
When we bought our used rig in 2006, our sales slip states we have a NEW transmission filter, NEW 6 gallons of tranny fluid and $95 labor charged for completing the job. It was included as part of the deal from Al's Motorhomes in Rockford, Illinois. Hmmmmm but the dates on the filters Steve removed have printed on them 3/96 ---- yes ---- you read that right, 1996! That makes them the original filters that came with our rig, which was made in 1996.
Obviously we thought we got NEW filters and tranny fluid when we bought our rig, according to the sales slip. But now with this revelation, that makes the filters and tranny fluid SIXTEEN YEARS OLD!!!!!
Lesson learned --- see why we insist on doing ALL of our work now, instead of trusting someone 200 miles away when we are having them "prep" the rig for our purchase? Gotta do it yourself or else be allowed to look over their shoulders--- "insurance regulations" or "shop policy" be damned.... or set up a video camera to see if they do the work they promised they are doing?

Sleep, no sleep, too much sleep!
After a sleepless night on Sunday, I was so tired that Monday night I took an Ambien. I haven't had one in about 8-9 years and I don't believe that it was a 10mg. Boy did I sleep good! The only problem was I overslept the next morning for work. After being woke up by a phone call, I rushed to get ready for work and left. I arrived at work 30 min. late. I felt like my arms and legs weighed a ton and I still just wanted to sleep! Needless to say, I went back home and went back to bed to sleep it off. I woke up when the phone rang again at 3:30. It was my boss making sure I was still alive. I don't believe that I will take another Ambien. It was good to sleep all night long though. Hope I sleep tonight. I will not take any sleeping medication either way!
